Muybridge Reanimated

I sourced, cut out many frames and re-animated the original imagery shot by Eadweard Muybridge around the time of 1872-1879. It was of the many beginnings of cinema and was the animated gif of it’s time. I took a playful look at this. Retiming, resizing and a lot of clone brush to bring it up to the standards we have today regarding playback. None of the sequences were perfect so there was a good bit of clean up and rearranging frames to get it where I wanted it to be. With the dawn of Ai I felt it was a good time to look back and see where film began. It was truely shocking to see when these reels were shot and interesting to read up on teh technology invented to obtain them. As well as the precurser to film it was the start of ideas like 360 camera technology used in The Matrix with its “panoramic pivot point camera movement”. Enjoy.
